Snow sports 45mins from Climb Ariege Ski at Ax les Thermes Snowboard at Ax

    The area has great potential for a multi-sport holiday in the winter. The climbing can be perfect when the sun shines but if it rains it is often snowing in the mountains.
    Ax-les-Thermes is 45mins drive from La Forge, offers excellent ski and snowboard conditions and has the advantage of being much less busy than many of the Alpine stations.
    Other resorts are within easy range with Andorra at about 1.5hrs by road or train.
    As well as downhill, you can try cross-country skiing just 15 minutes up the road from the house. At just 8 euros for the day and no experience necessary, it's a great day out and good exercise too!
