The Ariège is a paradise for climbers and has become home to many noted names of the climbing world including Stevie Haston and recently, Jim Perrin.

The house is in the hamlet of La Coupière, about 5 minutes drive from the historic town of Foix. It is about an hour's drive from Carcasonne airport and 45 minutes from Toulouse. Foix is a busy market town full of restaurants and bars. There are several supermarkets, a Decathlon sports supermarket and a swimming pool in the town.
