  • A day on the beach:

    In the summer months, a trip to the Mediterranean coast can make a good break from climbing.
    Narbonne plage, part of the hundred mile beach stretching between the Camargue and the Pyrenees is about 1½hrs. drive from La Forge.
    A typical day could go: Wake up and realize you have no skin / energy left for climbing. Have breakfast at 9.00 and drive to the coast in time to check out the seafront shops and restaurants. Have a leisurely lunch followed by 6 hrs tanning and swimming. Back to Foix in time to pick up a pizza and a bottle of wine for dinner. An early night will leave you fully restored and bursting with energy for a 20 pitch route the next day!
